The IT Academy at Ferguson Sr. consists of five strands, each with their own course content. Students choose their academies their softmore year and register for classes in the subsequent strand(s) that suits their area of interest.

Network Systems Administration / Cisco: Students in the Networking Strand learn the necessary skills to create and maintain networks and network applications. These students have the opportunity to qualify for their Cisco Level 1 certification their senior year.

Computer Programming: Students in the Programming Strand learn how to create windows based applications for a variety of purposes using Microsoft's Visual Studio 2005. Students taking classes in this strand will gain experience with the Visual Basic.Net language as well as ASP.Net and ADO.Net.
Web Design: Students in the Web Design Strand learn how to design and build web sites using Macromedia's Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks. Advanced topics include building dynamic web pages and building sites for e-commerce. Students in the Web Design strand also have numerous opportunities to complete their community service requirements as well as participate in in-house internships by assisting faculty and staff with the development and maintenance of faculty web pages.

Digital Design: Students in the Digital Design Strand learn how to create advanced graphics for various applications including animations for motion pictures and video games with the industry leading software platform Maya 7.
PC Support: Students in the PC Support Strand learn how to install and troubleshoot hardware and software for windows client desktops. Students who complete PC Support 2 may qualify to recieve their Comptia A+ Certification.
