PROFESSIONAL
DRESS POLICY
FOR STUDENTS IN BUSINESS & IT CLASSES
Students should develop an awareness of the image oneีs appearance projects. The purpose of the dress policy is to uphold the professional image of the association and to prepare students for the business world.
MALES
v Business suit with collared dress shirt and necktie; or
v Sport coat, dress slacks, collared dress shirt, and necktie; or
v Dress slacks, collared dress shirt, and necktie.
v Dress shoes and dress socks are required.
v A banded collar shirt may be worn only if a sport coat or business suit is worn.
FEMALES
v Business suit; or
v Coordinated business pantsuit; or
v Blouse or sweater.
v Closed toe and heel business dress shoes are required.
v NO SKIRTS on business attire days.
MALES AND FEMALES
No jewelry in visible body piercing, other than ears,
on men or women!
No sleeveless shirts or off the shoulder shirts.
ACCEPTABLE AWARDS PROGRAM ATTIRE
v Professional dress as listed above; or
v Semi-formal or formal attire
DECA & FBLA Out of School ACTIVITIES ATTIRE
v Females: may wear Business Dress ; or Skirts below the knee as well as Professional dress as listed above
v Males: Professional dress as listed above
UNACCEPTABLE ATTIRE INCLUDES:
v Denim, chambray, or flannel fabric clothing of any kind
v Overalls, shorts, skorts, stretch or stirrup pants, capri pants, exercise or bike shorts
v Low-cut, backless, see-through, tight-fitting, spaghetti straps, or strapless blouses/tops/dresses
v Extremely short, tight-fitting, or see-through dresses/skirts
v Sandals, athletic shoes, industrial work shoes, hiking boots, over-the-knee boots, or bare feet
v Athletic wear, including sneakers and letterman jackets
v Hats
v Bolo ties
v Visible foundation garments
New fashion trends may be in style but not necessarily appropriate. The best way to operate is to avoid walking the line. If there is a doubt, select something else to wear. Be a professional!
